The Great Backyard Bird CountFRIDAY - MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12 - 15, 2010
It's that time of year again! Time to count our neighborhood feathered friends for the 13th annual Great Backyard Bird Count sponsored nationally by the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. The whole family can be citizen scientists and enjoy learning more about birds by counting the birds in your own backyard. The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent and Hawaii. Anyone can participate, from beginning birders to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. It'd free, fun and easy - and it helps the birds! For more information about the GBBC visit: http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc/ The Bob Jones Nature Center is here to help as well! Nature Center GBBC
